Diet Fuel Archives

During periods of fasting, how are metabolic fuels used differently compared to their use with a healthy, consistent diet? What are the negative effects associated with this?

Hello- I am dilligent about my diet and excercise. I eat very healthy, lots of veggies and proteins, and do cardio and weight train 3-4 times a week, and stay active with walks and outdoors activities when i am not at the gym.

My trainer has me eating 50% of my diet in carbs, as I need them for fuel (he says) but I am unable to drop the last 5-10lbs without cutting them out completely! I see the muscle deifinition under the little bit of flab left, but I want to BUST through that flab!!

I am terrified of ALLI (who wants to poop their pants?? I'd rather get fat!) and I want to do it the safe way… Has anyone had a good experience with a diet pill?
No one even seems to have READ my question- I am not looking for diet and excercise tips- I am doing well by them. I wanted to hear from people ONLY if they had advice on DIET PILLS. Keep your opinions on pills to yourself.

Q: Whats a good diet for me?

Hello, i am 14 yr old girl. I am 5' 6 and weigh 180 lbs.
I play for a boys hockey team and have to workout a lot over the summer to build up every single muscle in my body. Now i need to know, what is the Very best fuel i need to do this. In other words, What foods do i need to eat to have enough energy for intense workouts. What are foods that are good for me, easy to burn, and serve as good fuel? Also, I would love it if you told me what foods store fat in your stomache and thighs. (These are foods i have to stay away from)
Thanks!

I've used both Ripped Fuel, and Thermo Dynamx with fairly good results, but I'd like to know which product out there everyone seems to like the best. I exercise regularly and follow a healthy diet, but I am looking for a product to both help give me a little boost in the weight room, while at the same time, help my body burn off fat.

i just purchased the liquid jet fuel without talking to anybody about the results or the way it may make you feel.

New Labour suggests we should eat less meat, because cattle and sheep emit methane gas which is detremental for the planet and adds to global warming!!! This fails to take into consideration the fossil fuels required for cultivation of vegtable crops!!

I run everyday. I run 8-10 miles and do 400-700 crunches right after. I also do ab work and some light weight lifting. I incorporate Yoga into my workouts 3 times a week as well. I stretch out very well after each workout and I am a devotee of the Macrobiotic diet. I do have one guilty pleasure; I love Pasta. I eat it everyday.

I don't see anything wrong with it. I actually think that a lot of runners eat Pasta as it gives them fuel to burn while running. Is eating it everyday bad for me? I feel like It might make me gain weight? I stick to 100% Whole Grain Pasta and only eat Organic Pasta Sauces. Any suggestions?

I've considered a vegetarian lifestyle. It would be preferable to anybody with reverence. This much concerns me: eating meat has been hard-wired into our bodies over innumerable generations, and our bodies are ours because of it.

The points most scientists agree that human brains gained a distinct advantage were at the introduction of meat and at the introduction of cooking into the human diet. The easiest way to explain why is to say that there is a finite amount of energy that can be worked into a humanoid, and that energy was used to make more intestine back then. If it wasn't, the resulting humanoid didn't fare well, and likely didn't reproduce. Eating easier-to-digest foods changed all that, and suddenly the big-brained ones didn't drop like flies. Eventually: enter Homo Sapiens.

I AM NOT saying that vegetarians unintelligent. My question is, does anyone worry over long term effects of taxing their "fuel" system through successive vegetarian generations?
I'm very sorry to point this out, but the first answer had absolutely nothing to do with my question, which reflects a pretty significant understanding of the meaning of the word in the first place.

To clarify: the answer I'm seeking doesn't deal in opinion. It is objective.
Vitamins and minerals are dandy. I am talking about the irrefutable role that eased and pre- digestion has played in human evolution.

I appreciate your opinions, but only one of them even approached the (wow, this is a bad pun) analytical meat of my question. You feel too strongly to. That's lovely, but it disqualifies your answer because it isn't objective, and that's precisely what I'm asking for.

Please don't take it personally if you don't like the conclusion you draw from the material I dig up.

I'll leave this here for a few more days and see what comes of it.

Let me make it clear that I definitely do not need to know anything about the history of human vegetarianism unless that history belonged to everybody and re-shaped the human body.

Drinking protein shakes during the day time?

I have started a new work out routine (exercise Monday night, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday morning). If I drink protein shakes during the day time, like a mid-morning and/or mid-afternoon snack, will this cause me to gain weight or will it be used as fuel since I do go to the gym? I was instructed by a trainer to try this protein rich diet for weight loss and muscle building/toning. Just thought I'd ask if anyone else has tried this out.

Does acai fuel really work?

I'm on a diet right now and I just ordered acai fuel extreme and I was wondering has anyone tried it and did it work please give me some advice=e

We are having a hard time finding a top-quality dog food in the stores. I'd hate to have to mail-order our dog food with such high prices on fuel right now. Does anyone have any recommendations on a pet store chain that actually carries good quality dog food? Petco just doesn't have anything good. Iams, Purina, Science Diet, all of those are full of grains, which are bad for the dogs. Help!

did you know that hunting is a conservation and helps the enviroment. Animal populations have more then doubled sense the enactment of organized hunting

meat is attributed to our evolution to large brains

protein found in meets are your brains fuel and are essential to all you bodies major workings

your teeth are designed to eat meat (omnivor) with the cusps on your molars

It's a cycle of life and though I do not condone the treatment of animals meat is a food and we've been eating it for the past 3 million yrs ….and look where it got us

to supplement your diet you'll probably have to take vitimins which in excess have many life long negative affects.

Protein is essential to muscle growth and healing of the body

Vegatarianism is just a phase for most girls who experience it….it's like a club…. for a right cause lol

your on the same line to me as feminst and womanizers

Eating habits/diet for MMA fighter?

I weigh 155lbs…I prefer to keep myself at fight weight rather than cut weight when a match comes around. I've tried eating multiple small meals a day and hell, it works for maintaining weight! The problem is the fact I don't have the time to eat 5 to 6 times a day so I adjust it to 4 and just eat a well proportioned meal…the problem is that I'm always hungry because those small meals just don't fill me up. Come on…we're athletes and are constantly training…we need fuel therefore require large meals! Is it bad to eat 3 regular meals a day…I just don't like being hungry all day! And I'm not trying to make excuses for eating junk like chips, cokes, and candy…I mean real food! Do any of you follow regular eating habits and still keep a stable weight…I'd like to hear the different diets or eating habits from experienced fighters…help me out guys! What do you all do?

Lately they have come out with a ton of flavors. Pitch Black(Grape), Live Wire(Orange), Code Red(Cherry), Game Fuel(Citrus Cherry), Original, and Diet. So whats your favorite?

Will my body lose muscle with the Adkins Diet?

I need to lose all the fat I can in 3 weeks. I am already lean(6-pack is visible) but i would like to be as lean as possible for leave. I heard someone say that for the movie "rundown" The Rock ate only tuna and protein shakes. I have read articles about the body's "self-regulation" and was wondering if it would steal protein for energy. I do cardio often, take ripped fuel extreme, lift, lots of ab excercises, eat right(6 meals, lots of water), and I'm in scorching heat. Adkins is not my permanent plan, just a crash to impress my girlfriend. 3 weeks is all I have.

I have a 2002 Harley Davidson Sportster 1200 with cycle-shack slip-ons, and last year took it to the drag strip one day with some friends, and found the joy that is the "blue race fuel", which not only smells really nice, but also seemed to give my bike some real extra torque. I believe i filled up with an octane between 105 and 110 (and laughed at the kid putting 130 into his mom's civic). For how fuel efficient my bike is, i think this year i would like to just buy a drum of race fuel to keep on hand, to run my bike on most of the time.

Is it safe to feed my harley a diet of 110 octane blue race fuel? Is this fuel legal for public road use? Where can i get a drum of the fuel? I live in northern iowa, area code 50613. How long would it stay good, if i just filled 5-gallon jugs at the drag strip to keep in my garage?

What about AvGas? It's low-lead, and i have access to it (father has airplane) but i hear it melts valves on cars. Anyone used it for a prolonged time?
Oh and for those who are curious, my best run in the quarter was 13.6 seconds at 98mph. I had put on a different handlebar, that pulled the cables too tight, only letting my clutch engage 95% so instead of wheelies (which it eagerly will do), i could feel the clutch slip significantly. So i think i could have done 13.0 easily, after i had the shop reset my clutch cable settings internally (it was past the limit of what could be adjusted at the handlebar).
Actually i have plenty of r/c nitro fuel laying around, and it is not anything i would trust putting into anything of value. We put a tank of r/c nitro into a GoPed when we were in high school, and boy that thing ran like a raped ape, but after that it never really, um, ran quite right, ever again. I would be afraid of all the extra oil in the fuel gunking up the engine (the stuff is only 25% nitromethane, the rest is basically castor oil).
It runs like it's on choke when i use 89 ethanol (only when i'm on reserve and nowhere near a decent station) so usually i put 91-93 premium in there. The time i put race fuel in, the thing ran really great it seemed, and also smelled really nice. I think the longer burning perhaps gives more torque at lower rpm's, although i could be speaking out my butt here. If i could get a drum of 110 to know i'd be using it, i'd get the bike re-timed and re-jetted to that specific fuel. Thinner head gaskets for raised compression might be good too (or what would you advice for engine mods to use this fuel? maybe 00 limit on parts/labor)

along with the right amount of diet and exersise i have been doing but please no people saying it's all just a scam and all that i just want to know what i asked nothing else

Thank you.

Does Ripped Fuel really work?

I think they just make you diet and exercise along with it knowing all too well that it doesn't do a damn thing. It's just the diet and exercise.
What about Hydroxycut?

OK, granted, my car is old and tired. You might even say geriatric. It is a well worn 95 Pontiac Sunfire GT.

Yesterday I was running on empty. I have been for a couple days now (work is only 1.5 miles from home), but yesterday was the first day the "check gauges" light came on.

I had a little work to do before I could buy gas (go get my deposits back on worth of Diet Coke cans) so I drove down to the market to do that. My needle stayed below empty.

Then when I got back in the car to drive to the gas station, it said 1/4 tank. I wasn't on a hill or anything.

This is where it gets weird. I started driving to the gas station, about three miles away. Over the eight or nine minues it took me to go those 3 miles, my needle climbed very steadily to full and past! It said it had a totally full tank! This is BEFORE I put my of gas in!!!

After I pumped the four and some-odd gallons, it read fine, and has since. What gives?
My first thought was that the sensor was getting stuck somewhere, but the climb to (and past) "F" was very steady.

The drive was on flat roads, so I'm stumped!
Gremlins and formaldehyde!!!

Should I have not gassed it up after midnight?

Would you give up your ability to taste?

In exchange, you would be fed a strict "fuel" diet that wouldn't normally taste good. But, it would keep you darn healthy and you'd live longer.

So, taste vs long life
