I’ve hit a weight loss plateau so i want to up my already-extreme diet some more?
I've been on a diet where I consume anywhere from 700-1200 calories a day, and burn 1000-2000 calories via treadmill, biking and medicine ball exercises. I noticed this was helping me go from 198 to 180, but then it stopped working. So, for the past two weeks my weight hasnt went down, meanwhile I am eating very little and exercising like crazy (7 mile bike rides + 1 hour on the treadmill everyday). I figured i was taking enough calories so it was my body telling me I needed more fuel if I want to lose weight and I went to 1200-2000 calories a day, and the same level of exercise. Still no good. I'm gonna go on a liquid diet until I reach 170. This liquid smoothie diet. The smoothie will consist of:
grounded flaxseed
fiber powder
protein powder
1 cup of berries
& grean tea
I will be living off of this drink for the next two weeks. As the time on the diet is winding down I will introduce foods to my body slowly by only eating fruits and veggies. I think overall this will help me transition to veganism as well as lose weight.
Tell me what you guys think.

If you begin eating 2,500 calories per day then your metabolism will adjust itself so that your body begins burning 2,500 calories per day. If you try to starve yourself by suddenly eating 1,000 calories per day then your metabolism will again ADJUST ITSELF so that your body begins to burn only 1,000 calories per day. That’s why you have failed in your past dieting attempts, that’s why you always seem to fail when you try and starve yourself.
Many such programs and diet plans go overboard in their attempt to make people lose fat rapidly. Fad diets or starvation diets are a definite no-no. There are so many harmful effects of starving yourself and not eating properly. And many times, you would not lose body fat with such fad diets, instead you will lose water weight. Similarly , low carb diets, low protein diets etc. that make you eat only a certain kind of food and not others are also not a very good method of weight loss.
I’m 21, 5′ 7 and 2 years ago i weight 205 pounds and the boys called me humty-dumty because of my egg-shape body and i’ve been hospitalized for a week due to the side-effect of weight loss pills. At that moment i was in the verged of breaking down. The odd is that the pills was celebrated and claimed to be safe by the TV media especially in the internet.
Finally, in 2007 a friend introduce me a new concept of weight loss program that change my life since then. I’ve lost 30 pounds in the first month and my current weight is 143 pounds. The truth is our own metabolism system play a vital part in controlling the amount of body fat burned in the process of providing energy to the body. Knowledge about our own metabolism function is the mother to all weight loss programs. With the knowledge you not only reduce your weight but able to maintain an ideal weight and living a healthy life. Best of all you can eat what you most enjoyed without gaining any weight. The knowledge from the program is invaluable and i’m sure you won’t be regret. The link is at the source below.
Btw the program is 100% safe and you will enjoy it for life.
I think you should think about eating raw foods. I have heard good things about this. It includes not cooking any of your meals. Making things in a food processor or blender and taking a look at some good vegetarian recipe books. Maybe your exercise program is lacking in some things. Like taking a movement class can really help and give you a more well rounded understanding of what you should be doing. I say try all sorts of things. Modern dance, jazz classes, tai chi or yoga classes, pilates class and ballet class. Pick and chose but all those will give you a leg up on the situation.
when u start to eat proper food u’ll gain weight twice as fast. theses quick fixes dont last. your body should burn 1000 calories on its own with out exercise. too much exercise will make u gain weigh. the best way to lose weight is to do it gradually. i dont think your energy levels will be half as high on that liquid diet.
You will lose the weight now, you will look awesome. But that will only last for about a week. Right now you are screwing your metabolism up so bad. That is partly the reason why you stopped loosing weight. When you finish the diet your weight will go back on with extra added on. And your diet wont work again because your metabolism will be screwed up. So I suggest you stop…
You gsve your answer in the first sentence buddy!!! Unless your below 4’10" you shouldn’t be consuming BELOW 1,200, you’ve set your body on starvation mode, that’s why what you eat turns into fat thus making it harder to burn off, your meesing up your metabolism !!!! I’m glad your transitioning to veganism, im vegetariam myself, but your method of weight loss is that healthy, those last few lbs are the hard ones and it might take time, but the solution to this might be this
go to a site with a daily calorie intake calculator and see what you SHOULD be consuming
then eat 100-250 less than that a day
and slowly and gradualy [day-by-day] amp up your work out, by adding 2-5 min to a workout and adding on to the intensity
and drink lots off water
p.s.make sure to streghnt train, lean muscle burns 50% more fat
(exercisetv.tv has great matirial)

The Fastest Weight Loss Diet – In 8 Easy Steps
1 – Creating YOUR fastest weight loss diet is easy if you approach it on a one step at a time basis.
You can’t make improvements in what you don’t monitor. That is an axiom in business and is one in our weight loss efforts as well. If you don’t know what and how much you are eating, how can you make the appropriate changes? Start a simple food diary and list everything you eat for a few days, that will give you all the data you need to start making changes.
Then, start making changes! Start slowly adding in more healthy food options and start easing back on the bad ones.
Next in our quest for the fastest weight loss diet is exercise. Stop groaning, I don’t like it either, but you have to do it. Start off (one day at a time) easy. Maybe 10 – 15 minutes of low intensity walking. Than as you get in better shape, increase the intensity and duration. Start adding in other exercises and so on…
2 – Your fastest weight loss diet will be successful or not based on one thing. Whether you stick to it or not! It’s far easier if you enjoy what you are doing, so pick foods and exercise activities that you like.
The glycemic index charts list foods by a ranking number and (usually) lower is better. There are tons of options, so trade out bad foods with ones that rank lower but you still like to eat! Even if it’s only a couple points difference, you are making progress.
The same ideas apply to exercise. Bored with mind numbing crunches and jogging? Try wildly dancing around the house! Wilder is better! Get your kids involved. You’ll feel like an idiot and laugh the whole time. Tennis anyone?
3 – In addition to aerobic type exercise, to really boost your fastest weight loss diet into overdrive, start to build and tone your muscles.
To lose weight, we want to burn off more calories than we take in…pound for pound, muscle burns more calories than fat! Plus, you get a nice added bonus – muscle burns calories even when not being used. You could lose weight while sleeping or watching TV! Add some weight training into your daily routine and you will really speed up your metabolism. You’ll look and feel better and it will be easier to stay that way.
4 – Your body needs carbohydrates in the mix. Don’t cut them out completely, but scale back. Your body digests carbs and turns them into glucose which is the blood sugar you hear so much about. In your fastest weight loss diet plan, you need enough carbs to keep up your energy and body functions without having "left-overs’ that get stored as fat. Try substituting foods that rank lower on the glycemic foods index.
5 – One of the biggest causes of failure in the fastest weight loss diet is our goal setting. we either don’t set a goal (disaster ahead!) or we set unrealistic goals we can never attain or stick with. Either way destroys your chances. Set both short and long term – measurable – goals, set deadlines and hold yourself accountable.
In making lifestyle changes, it’s not a contest. The size of the goal is far less important than the ability to stick with it. After all, it’s better to comfortably lose a pound a week for a year, than it is to starve yourself and lose ten pounds in a week, then give up and regain it all, plus 15 more pounds to boot!
6 – It goes well beyond the scope of this article to explain why, but candy, sodas, cookies and other "empty calorie" foods are bad for you. I mean really bad and not just because they make you fat. If you want better health and success in your fastest weight loss diet, cut them out.
The bonus here is that by cutting out all these fat inducing empty calories, most of us will start to see dramatic weight loss without doing anything more!
7 – To lose weight on the fastest weight loss diet, you have to eat. Not only that, you must have a good breakfast. It’s this that will trigger your metabolism and speed it up throughout the day. Go without and your metabolism slows way down and when you finally DO eat, your body thinks it has been in starvation and will still keep your metabolism at the low point. It stores the food as fat rather than using it as energy.
Most of your daily calories should be consumed as early as possible. No more midnight snacks.
8 – Heaven forbid that I should ever accuse our mothers of leading us astray, but they did. You’ve all heard it, "Clean your plate!" For success on the fastest weight loss diet, you’ve got to leave some behind. Portion control may be a challenge at first, but with practice it becomes automatic. Just like overeating did. Control the amount of and what goes into your body and weight loss will be no problem.
