1. This is true. protein, though is the last resort for metabolism because it is necessary for tissue growth. forced protein metabolism occur in the malnourished. if there is a lack of carbos and fats, teh body will burn your muscles away for energy. heart problems can arise if a person has not eaten and the body starts to metabolise muscles of the heart.
on a side note, the Atkins diet is a concept based upon protein metabolism, in which the dieter consumes only protein-based foods, thereby forcing the body to learn to use protein for energy only, thereby weaning the body off of carbos and fats forever. to prevent muscle loss, the diet commands that the person consume lots of meat and protein rich foods, an activity that some feel carry its own health problems.
2. saturated fats are so called because all carbon atoms are saturated or substituted. unsaturated fats have C=C double bonds, polyunsaturated fats have many C=C bonds.
3. certain elements should be present in our diets, including potassium, iron, chromium, calcium, copper etc. but not all. this is false. some elements are toxic and will cause many problems. these include cadmium, mercury and other heavy metals that are common but dangerous to consume.
4. when glucose is metabolised, oxygen is never formed. aerobic respiration converts a glucose molecule into carbon dioxide, and water only, with the release of energy. in anaerobic respiration, glucose is converted to lactic acid with some energy.
