Lemon diet, Xenadrine??? What diets have you tried and how successful have they been?
You don't want your weight loss plan to flop before you have even seen positive results. Here are some things that can result in diet failure.
Statistically, more diets fail than succeed. However, if you train yourself to think of the process as a weight loss plan, rather than a diet, you are more likely to reach your desired goal. Before beginning the plan, educate yourself about the reasons why diets result in the desired weight level one year following the diet. There are several reasons, including both physical causes and psychological causes. A failed diet is bad for you in two areas. First, it is demoralizing to try very hard to succeed at something and fail. Second, yo-yo dieting results in increasing difficulty in getting the weight off each time.
Nutritionally unsound diets
If your weight loss plan is nutritionally unsound, it can leave you feeling hungry all the time, particularly if you are eating significantly fewer calories than you normally consume. It takes planning to provide fewer calories and avoid hunger pangs at the same time. By their very nature, diets place a lot of emphasis on food and you will be thinking more about food which exacerbates the feeling of hunger. Eliminating certain food groups from your diet is an example of a nutritionally unsound diet as is eating only one of two foods during the course of the diet.
Boring Diets
Diets which rely on only one food may sound like the pounds will melt away, but often, the dieter will last through only two or three meals of grapefruit or something similar that is touted as the latest 'lose weight quickly' fad. Instead, choose a weight loss plan that provides a variety of nutritious and filling foods and be sure to include some of your personal favorites as a treat. By reducing the size of portions and including healthy exercise, you can often take the pounds off gradually and never feel like you are bored or suffering from the results of monofoods during the course of the diet.
Unrealistic Expectations
If you prepare a weight loss plan that calls for losing lots of weight in a short period of time, you will almost certainly fail. The plans which show the best likelihood of success are those that use tested approaches to weight loss and set realistic intermediate goals. A weight control program that doesn't allow adequate time to work is almost certain to cause discouragement, usually resulting in the dieter giving up in despair, well short of the desired weight loss goal.
Physical problems
Sometimes physical problems are the issue in weight gain, and even the best weight loss plan won't result in dropping the pounds. However, if you review your diet plans with your physician prior to beginning the weight reduction program, he or she will be able to determine if there are any medical problems that should be addressed prior to altering eating habits. Certain diseases such as diabetes and thyroid problems can result in drastic and sometimes dangerous weight gains. By seeking medical attention, these issues are almost certain to be monitored and corrected through the use of medications, diet or exercise.
im looking to lose weight and if anyone has tryed any kind of pills or diets please tell me which did and did not work for you.and include the amount of weight you lost in the amount of time please
I mean seriously, it's not a hard decision to make. The few Americans that know what it is, DON'T want HFCS in their diets. HFCS is made synthetically, with ingredients that have a similar composition to anti-freeze! Tell me how good that is for you? It has been stated that there is not enough viable corn farmland for both HFCS and Ethanol. Just use the corn to make ethanol. Ethanol is already taking the place of MTDE as a gasoline additive. Most cars (even my 18 year old car) can be re-jetted and spark advanced to use the ethanol. As long as virgin rubber is used (since 1988), the fuel lines, and injector o-rings will NOT deteriorate. So I ask again, WHY is the government not doing anything about this??? Now I ask, are any of you in office honorable enough to stand-up for US?
I have been having a terrible time trying to find out what percentage of the soy and corn crops grown in the U.S. are fed to livestock each year.
Does anyone have a direction for me to head in? Does anyone know where I can find this information?
Also, I need this information for an article I'm writing. People think that bio-fuels are the main reason we are in a food crisis? Try again. It's because of our largely meat and dairy based diets.
Thanks, I hope someone can help me!
I'm a 20 year old male who has been on and off atkins. I have lost 70 lbs and kept it off for over 2-3 years, and now I've gotten back on to shed a few pounds Ive gained over the past months to get back in shape and feel good. My question is, since my body is in ketosis and is using fat for fuel, what happens if I take in for example 5-6 g. of carbs total by eating some cheese? Even though my body is in ketosis, and it's said that it will continue that way until I go above a pretty decent amount of carbs (20g is the rule of thumb given in Atkins books). Again, I'm curious as to what will happen with those carbs, and just exactly happens (I understand the process of ketosis, I just don't understand the relationship between diets that are low in fat/loads of carbs and low-carb/no fat. I always thought of it as if you mix em' you're screwed). Will the carbs I take in during ketosis be burned off as well and be negated or will they just turn to extra fat and end up being burned of anyhow?
It is a repost, and noone answered it, but I still haven't found any real description of what exactly happens. I'm interested in know what happens to carbs once they are inside a body in a state of ketosis
thanks
I saw some of the originals diets with ephedra at http://www.thatswholesale.com
I see that they contain the ephedrine alkaloids. Are these the real deal?
I weigh 155lbs...I prefer to keep myself at fight weight rather than cut weight when a match comes around. I've tried eating multiple small meals a day and hell, it works for maintaining weight! The problem is the fact I don't have the time to eat 5 to 6 times a day so I adjust it to 4 and just eat a well proportioned meal...the problem is that I'm always hungry because those small meals just don't fill me up. Come on...we're athletes and are constantly training...we need fuel therefore require large meals! Is it bad to eat 3 regular meals a day...I just don't like being hungry all day! And I'm not trying to make excuses for eating junk like chips, cokes, and candy...I mean real food! Do any of you follow regular eating habits and still keep a stable weight...I'd like to hear the different diets or eating habits from experienced fighters...help me out guys! What do you all do?
a.)Diets high in fat lead to a fall in amino acid utilization for fuel
b.) Diets lacking in carbohydrates lead to increased amino acid utilization for fuel
c.)Deficiencies of vitamins have no effect on performance provided that all other nutrients are adequate
d.)Deficiencies of minerals have no effect on performance provided that all other nutrients are adequate
