Will taking weight-loss pills or other supplements cause my birth control pills not to work?

I’ve seen the adds for things like TrimSpa, Hydroxycut, and other "nutritional supplements" on Beachbody, etc., and I was wondering if they had any kinds of effects on oral contraceptives that would cause the contraceptive not to work.

NO. I think the only herb/supplement that will make the pill ineffective is st. john’ s wort. I don’t remember why, but I know I read it on a medical site. Ivillage.com I think. I took hydroxycut for months while on the pill, and I didn’t get pregnant.
YES THAT STUFF COULD KILL YOU , SO BECAREFUL ITS NOT FDA APPROVED
Yikes, I hope not. lol. Otherwise … ooops for me. I do know one thing for certain: Antibiotics definitely can and often will prevent your bc from being effective. Never heard that about diet pills, though.
